  5. Disable scheduled tasks that are unnecessary or unimportant
  6. Consider disabling Windows Defender, if you use another antivirus program (it is not essential)
  7. Reset your PC if necessary for more drastic measures, such as a virus. This will clear all programs and files from your laptop’s hard drive, and you’ll have to reinstall them afterwards
  8. Disable Windows updates by setting your connection type as “metered” or using the other tips in this article. You can also set a limit on bandwidth usage for downloads (see below)
