CrystalDiskInfo is a simple program to see the status of your hard disks. You can also run a short test on it to see if there are any problems with it. An administrator would usually use this tool to find out why hardware is not working properly, and which drive has a higher error rate.
For example, a hard disk that’s almost full can cause constant read/to write errors. This is usually the first tool you would use when troubleshooting hardware problems, as it can give you an immediate solution.
There are other tools like HD Tune which offers more functionality, but CrystalDiskInfo offers enough to see if there’s something wrong with your hard disks (e.g., overheating, bad sectors).
